Entertainment digest: Bach Lunch Concerts on Tuesdays
Saturday, January 19, 2008

Judging from the portraits, J.S. Bach liked to eat as much as he liked to compose.

A new Downtown midday concert series will combine both, too. Bach's Lunch Concerts will be monthly offerings at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays in various venues.

Suggested donation is $10 and a complimentary box lunch will be given if patrons e-mail in advance.

The programs will be varied, but each will likely contain some Bach.

The concerts are organized and will benefit Pittsburgh Festival Orchestra.

The first recital features Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra violinist Roy Sonne (Feb. 19 at First Lutheran Church); following that will be pianist Patricia Prattis Jennings (March 18 at Smithfield United Church of Christ); PSO cellist Anne Martindale Williams (April 15 at First Lutheran), and pianist Becky Billock (May 20 at Smithfield United).

E-mail pgh.bachs.lunch@gmail.com for box lunches; call 412-731-5247 for more information.
